Seoul's first 'ultra-fine dust warning' this year...In Chungnam, 'Preliminary Reduction Measures'

The first ultrafine dust warning of the year was issued in Seoul from noon due to the addition of smog to the atmospheric congestion.

In addition, "ultra-fine dust warnings" are in effect in Incheon and central Gyeonggi Province, and the first high-concentration fine dust reduction measures will be implemented this winter from 6 a.m. today (20th) to 6 a.m. tomorrow in Chungnam.

The National Institute of Environmental Research said that the concentration of ultrafine dust in the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon Province, Chungcheong Province, and Jeju soared to "bad" levels due to the influx of smog from China amid the accumulation of domestic pollutants due to atmospheric congestion.

The National Institute of Environmental Research said that air congestion and smog are likely to intensify ultrafine dust tonight and tomorrow, and asked for special attention to outdoor activities in special areas.

Preliminary fine dust reduction measures are issued when the concentration of ultrafine dust on the next day and the following day is expected to exceed 50 micrograms per cubic meter.
