The Japanese government says it is watching with special and grave interest in the arrest of Yoon Suk Yeol's president, who is accused of a rebellion, and some of his supporters storm the court.

Japanese government spokesman Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi said at a regular briefing today that he would refrain from commenting on other countries' internal affairs when asked about it.

He added that the two countries are important neighbors in the international community to cooperate in responding to various tasks, and that he does not think the importance of Korea-Japan relations will change under the current strategic environment.

He also said that although there are various movements in the domestic situation in Korea, the two countries need to respond with this recognition, and that he will communicate closely with the Korean government.

In addition, Hayashi explained that he wants to build a solid trust relationship and raise the U.S.-Japan alliance to a higher level by realizing an early summit with the Donald Trump administration.
