Indonesian authorities have dismissed reports that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is considering moving some Palestinian residents in Gaza to Indonesia, saying they have "not heard any suggestions."

"The Indonesian government has not received any information or suggestions regarding the migration of residents of Gaza from any party, including the United States," a spokesperson for Indonesia's foreign ministry said in a statement on Tuesday local time.

NBC reported that Trump is considering relocating as many as 2 million Palestinians to rebuild Gaza, and Indonesia is mentioned as a destination for relocation.Indonesian President

Prabowo Subianto welcomed the idea of sending 1,000 Palestinian refugee children to Indonesian Islamic boarding schools in Gaza in June last year when he was president-elect.

In response, the Indonesian government explained that this was only discussed as an idea at the time, and that it was not receiving specific proposals or planning.

Indonesia, a Muslim-majority country with an absolute majority of its population, supports the independence of its Muslim brother, Palestine, and has no diplomatic relations with Israel.
