Military Court Sentences Confidential Leaked Intelligence Officer to 20 Years in Prison

The Central District Military Court sentenced A, an intelligence officer, to 20 years in prison and 1.2 billion won in fines and ordered 160 million won in additional fines at the sentencing hearing for A, an intelligence officer, who was arrested and charged with leaking military secrets such as military secret agent information.

Mr. A was arrested and charged in August last year on charges of leaking military secrets after receiving 160 million won in borrowed-name accounts by requesting 400 million won several times from 2019 after being included in an alleged Chinese intelligence agent around 2017.

Earlier, the military prosecution asked A for life imprisonment, a fine of 800 million won, and a fine of 160.25 million won at the final hearing last month.
