The Seoul Central District Court today (21st) acquitted Cho, who is suspected of leaking official secrets.
Although the court is suspicious, it is difficult to say that the charges have been proven to the extent of conviction, given that Cho's motive for leaking investigative information or the reason for the crime is unclear.
Earlier in January last year, while working for the cyber investigation unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, Cho was put on trial for giving an attorney the investigation information of Hwang's case.
Hwang was put on trial in July last year on charges of illegally filming videos of sexual intercourse without the consent of the other party four times from June to September 2022, and is set to be sentenced to the first trial next month.
