The Board of Audit and Inspection said, "Domestic autonomous driving deteriorates communication performance when there is traffic congestion."

It was found that the communication performance of domestic autonomous driving systems is poor in traffic congestion situations.

In an audit report on the construction of self-driving infrastructure, the Board of Audit and Inspection said it analyzed the performance of self-driving communication in heavy traffic conditions and found that the maximum effective communication distance between vehicles and vehicle and roadside base stations was shorter than the standard.

It also informed the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to come up with measures to improve the standards for verifying communication performance of autonomous driving systems, saying there are no test standards and methods to measure or evaluate communication performance in congestion situations.
