Regarding the controversy over the New Year's gift by Kwon Young-se, the People's Power countered that the report that the NEC judged that it could violate the election law is not true.

The party issued a notice, and the NEC said it is currently considering whether to view the party leader's Lunar New Year gift as a normal party activity, and that it has not conveyed its opinion of violating the election law to the party's emergency committee chairman's office.

Kim Yong-man of the Democratic Party, who asked the NEC about the issue, pointed out that it would be wise to first look at Lee Jae-myung's Lunar New Year gift, citing the idiom "Yangcheon-itta," which means "spitting in the sky."

Chairman Kwon explained that despite the controversy that a conservative YouTuber who was on the scene at the time of the violence at the Seoul Western District Court was included in the New Year's gift list, no one participated in or instigated the violence.

Chairman Kwon told reporters at the National Assembly that the gift was sent before the Western District Court incident and stressed that the party firmly opposes and rejects violence.
