German Chancellor Olaf Scholz says Tesla CEO Elon Musk's far-right supportive comments sparking controversy over European political intervention are unacceptable.

Asked about the controversy over Musk's "Nazi salute" at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland on the 21st local time, Scholz said Europe has freedom of expression but cannot accept it if he supports the far-right position.

Musk has publicly supported the far-right Alternative Party (AfD), referred to Scholz as an "absurd" and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier as an "anti-democratic tyrant" and expressed antipathy to German progressive groups such as the Social Democrats (SPD) and the Greens.

During his speech at President Trump's inauguration on the 20th local time, Musk made two movements reminiscent of a "Nazi salute" by putting his hand on his chest and extending it diagonally.

In response, in Germany, when looking at the angle of the palm, there are conflicting opinions that "Nazi salute is certain" and that "the motion of the autistic disabled is clumsy."

Earlier, Musk appeared on a TV talk show in 2021 and said he suffers from Asperger syndrome, a type of autism disorder.
