Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said "Canada will also respond strongly to U.S. action" in reference to U.S. President Donald Trump's notice of a 25% tariff on Canada next month.

"Canada is considering all countermeasures and will be a strong, swift and balanced response," Trudeau told a news conference, adding that he would implement a counter-response strategy proportionate to U.S. tariff levels.

We know that there are always unpredictable expressions in the Trump administration, and we will make the U.S. pay for the trade war, but Canada will also have to pay for it.

With the U.S. accounting for more than three-quarters of Canada's total exports of 600 trillion won, Canada is considering U.S. products such as steel, ceramics, glass and orange juice as subject to the first stage of retaliatory tariffs.

Trudeau visited Mar-a-Lago shortly after Trump's tariff bomb announcement in November last year to try to solve the problem, but Trump mocked it by saying, "If the requirements cannot be implemented, transfer them to the 51st U.S. state."
