The Ministry of Environment said that the concentration of ultrafine dust in most parts of the country is expected to be three to four times higher than usual today due to the additional inflow of smog from China into dust accumulated by atmospheric congestion.
As a result, "high-concentration fine dust emergency reduction measures" are being implemented in the Seoul metropolitan area, Chungcheong, Gangwon Yeongseo, and Honam regions, while the concentration of ultrafine dust is "very bad" in Gyeonggi, Chungbuk, and Sejong, and "bad" in the whole country except Jeju.
This ultra-fine dust is expected to continue until the day after tomorrow and be resolved as the east wind gradually blows over the weekend.
