The People's Power Party's floor leadership and ruling party members of the National Assembly's Legislative and Judiciary Committee visited the Constitutional Court in protest and demanded answers about the close relationship between Moon Hyung-bae, acting chief justice of the Constitutional Court, and Lee Jae-myung, representative of the Democratic Party.

Kwon Sung-dong, the floor leader, met with reporters after the Constitutional Court's meeting was canceled, and said Moon was a person who showed off his friendship with Lee along with criticism from the government and the ruling party, arguing that the Constitutional Court needs to be explained to ensure fairness and reliability.

The president's impeachment hearing is held twice a week, but the hearing of impeachment cases, including the head of the Board of Audit and Inspection, the head of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, and the Minister of Justice, is slow.

He stressed that it is right for other impeachment trials to be concluded before the president's case, as the "abuse of the opposition's impeachment power" is cited as the cause of the declaration of emergency martial law.

The Constitutional Court expressed strong regret over its refusal to meet with the party to deliver its demands.
