Singer Lee Seung-hwan filed a 250 million won lawsuit against Gumi Mayor Kim Jang-ho, who canceled his concert hall rental last month.

Lim Jae-sung, Lee Seung-hwan's legal representative, filed a lawsuit against Mayor Kim and Gumi City at the Seoul Central District Court today (22nd), and said that the lawsuit included 100 people among the audience who booked the concert at the time.

He also added that apart from the lawsuit, it is necessary to determine whether Mayor Kim's actions violate freedom of expression, and that he is preparing a constitutional petition.

Earlier on the 23rd of last month, Gumi City canceled the rental of Lee's concert hall, the Gumi Culture and Arts Center, for the safety of citizens and audiences, and Mayor Kim said he/she asked Lee to submit a pledge that he/she would not say political words and actions, but he/she did not respond.
