At the National Assembly, the first hearing of the parliamentary investigation into the alleged civil war was held to find out the truth about the emergency martial law situation.
The opposition party issued a companion order to Yoon Suk Yeol's president for not responding to his request for attendance, and the ruling party protested that the forced investigation by the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit was unfair.

How's the hearing going on for the alleged rebellion?
[Reporter]
The morning questioning has ended and is now adjourned.
Questions will begin in the afternoon from 3 p.m.
A total of 76 people were adopted as witnesses in today's first hearing.
However, President Yoon Suk Yeol, former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun, and Acting President Choi Sang-mok did not respond to the request to attend the National Assembly.
Most of the arrested military generals, including former counterintelligence commander Yeo In-hyeong, also submitted letters of reason for their absence.
The ruling party initially protested that it had never agreed to adopt witnesses, but the opposition party issued an accompanying order, saying that President Yoon attended the impeachment trial of the Constitutional Court and ignored the National Assembly's request for attendance.
[Ahn Kyu-baek / Special Chairman of the National Assembly Investigation Committee on Alleged Insurrection, Democratic Party of Korea: We issue an order to accompany you. The lieutenant of the National Assembly should execute the accompanying order for each of the seven people, including the Yoon Suk Yeol witnesses.]
The opposition party focused on cross-verifying what President Yoon claimed in the Constitutional Court's impeachment trial yesterday.
In particular, I asked the members of the State Council who attended the meeting to the effect that it was false that they had never handed over a note related to the emergency legislative body to Acting President Choi Sang-mok at the time of the emergency martial law.
However, most Prime Minister Han Deok-soo and ministers at the hearing answered that they did not remember or saw them in person, and former Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min refused to answer at all.
On the other hand, the ruling party protested that the hearing was too much to be questioned by the opposition, saying it was not a trial.
He defended Deputy Chief Kim Sung-hoon, saying that the investigation of the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit's alleged rebellion was illegal and that the leadership of the Security Service refused to execute the arrest warrant for President Yoon was justified.
[Park Jun-tae / People's Power: How can the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit, which conducts expedient and illegal investigations without legal basis, say that the security agency has committed illegal acts and that it will investigate all the security guards? Please respond confidently.

The ruling party leaders visited the Constitutional Court today?
[Reporter]
Yes, floor leader Kwon Sung-dong and other floor leaders visited the Constitutional Court in the morning to meet with the judges, but the meeting did not happen.Floor leader
has been questioning the fairness of President Yoon's impeachment trial since yesterday, claiming that Moon Hyung-bae, acting head of the Constitutional Court, is close to Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party.
In response to the criticism that the court was shaken, a key ruling party official pointed the arrow to Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party of Korea, saying, "Isn't it the avoidance of the court that Lee Jae-myung is best at?"
"I'm not defending the president, I'm asking for a fair impeachment trial," he said, arguing that procedural issues can be fully discussed by the party.
The ruling party is distancing itself from President Yoon's impeachment argument yesterday, saying it is not something the party should evaluate.
However, some insiders said that the president "became the main character" due to the attendance of the Constitutional Court.
It is expected that there will be a public opinion war effect, but on the contrary, there are many voices that President Yoon's direct argument is inappropriate.
A senior lawmaker said, "What good will it be for us for the president to keep appearing on television?" and expressed concern that it would adversely affect the public opinion of the middle class.

What's the Democratic Party's response?
[Reporter]
Spokesman Hwang Jung-ah told reporters at the National Assembly that most of the claims President Yoon made at the Constitutional Court were lies.
It is already confirmed by the prosecution's investigation that it ordered the lawmakers to be pulled out at the time of martial law or that acting Choi Sang-mok received a note on the establishment of an emergency legislative body.
The president Yoon's appearance at the Constitutional Court was aimed at instigating the supporters, but internally, it is also seen that he is wary of conservative assembly.
A key Democratic Party official said that President Yoon's appearance on TV itself is a factor in rallying supporters, and the recent trend of opinion polls is similar.
CEO Lee Jae-myung continues to focus on people's livelihood and economic activities.
At the morning meeting, he repeatedly insisted on expanding the local currency budget, citing the Bank of Korea report that real GDP evaporated by 500,000 won per household due to the martial law shock.
