Myanmar's junta has expelled more than 55,000 foreigners suspected of involvement in online fraud crimes over the past year or so, a report showed.

According to AFP on the 22nd local time, Myanmar's military government has forcibly repatriated more than 55,000 foreigners to their home countries due to a crackdown on online fraudulent workplaces in the border area since October 2023.

Among them, Chinese accounted for the majority with 53,000, with about 1,000 in Vietnam and 600 in Thailand.

The military government urged neighboring countries to join the fight against online fraud and gambling, saying that fugitives who entered Myanmar illegally are committing crimes.

Recently, Chinese actor Wang Xing was found in Myanmar after being kidnapped in Thailand, and Chinese model Yang Ziqi was also rescued after disappearing from the Thailand-Myanmar border.

With this opportunity, the criminal organization problem, which is raging in Myanmar, which has been in severe chaos due to coups and civil wars, is being repeated, and cooperation among related countries is also accelerating.
