Asiana Airlines said a foreign male passenger punched a female cabin crew member in the face on Asiana Airlines Flight 0Z 204 bound for LA, which was traveling on the runway of Incheon International Airport at around 9:25 p.m. on the 5th.
Asiana Airlines explained that passenger movement was restricted because the aircraft was about to take off, but when a group of male passengers got up from their seats and approached the bathroom, flight attendant A was assaulted while trying to stop it.
The cabin manager, who was briefed on the situation at the time, warned the passengers and their families in question, and said the aircraft took off normally.
Asiana Airlines said it immediately returned the victim to Korea as a passenger immediately after arriving in LA and is investigating compliance with the process of pushing ahead with takeoff despite the assault.
While some pointed out that Asiana Airlines pushed ahead with the flight without reporting to the police, the Seoul Regional Aviation Administration of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport decided to check the facts of the incident and decide whether to request an investigation of the perpetrators and to take administrative measures against Asiana Airlines.
