Police investigations are expanding into the hit-and-run man and assistant who were hit by a leading motorcycle and caused two casualties.

Gwangju Seobu Police Station and Gwangju Police Agency's Criminal Task Force said they are also investigating whether the arrested hit-and-run driver, identified only by his surname Kim, and his assistant, were involved in fraudulent crimes.

Police are investigating whether they have participated in the crime based on their frequent visits to Thailand and Southeast Asia and their track record of being punished for fraudulent crimes in the past.

The owner of the vehicle, the Seoul corporation, is also checking whether it may have been involved in crimes such as the distribution of cannon cars.

The police requested an emergency assessment from the Korea Expressway Corporation to determine the exact speed of the vehicle that was committed at the time of the accident.
