The Seoul Central District Court acquitted former coach Kim and former general manager Jang yesterday (4th), saying it is difficult to say that they received illegal requests.
The court explained that the money given by the sponsor to former coach Kim and former general manager Jang could be seen as the sponsor's contribution to the player as a fan of the Kia Tigers.
He also added that it is difficult to regard the advertising contract as an illegal solicitation because money came and went from an open place and paid more than usual costs.
Former head coach Kim and former general manager Jang are accused of taking bribes from a coffee company, a sponsor of the Kia club, several times.
Earlier last month, the prosecution asked the court to sentence former head coach Kim and former general manager Jang to four years in prison and two years in prison for the coffee company's chairman Kim.
