U.S. President Joe Biden has spoken out against a possible Israeli attack on Iranian oil facilities.
President Biden has said that if he were in Israel's position, he would look for an alternative other than attacking Iran's oil fields.
Israel has not yet concluded what to do with the attack on Iran, adding that it is "an issue under discussion."
[Joe Biden/U.S. President: Israel has not yet reached any conclusions regarding the Iran hit and discussions are still ongoing. If I were in Israel's position, I would think of an alternative, not an oil field hit.]
When asked about the prospect of an oil facility strike a day ago, he said he was "in discussion" and then began to evolve as international oil prices fluctuated.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, who has not responded to U.S. efforts to prevent escalation, said he should remember the help he gave.
[Joe Biden/President of the United States] No government has helped Israel more than I have. Not at all, not at all. Bibi (Netanyahu) should remember that.]
The U.S. military has officially announced that it has struck 15 sites in Yemen, including attacking military facilities by pro-Iranian Houthi rebels.
The U.S. Central Command said it hit 15 targets inside Yemen on the 4th local time in an area controlled by the Iran-backed Houthi.
He explained that the attack was aimed at protecting freedom of navigation and making international waters safer.
Earlier, the Houthis released a screen showing the hull exploding on social media, saying it was when they attacked a British oil tanker in the Red Sea on the 1st.
Since the outbreak of the Gaza war, the Houthis have attacked merchant ships on the Red Sea in the name of Hamas support and have fired missiles and drones at Israel several times.
