According to the data received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Kim Young-bae of the Democratic Party of Korea, a member of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, a total of 38 victims of the Korean murder in the Philippines from 2015 to the first half of this year.
This was the highest number, accounting for 44%, or nearly half of the 86 Koreans killed in Asia-Pacific countries during the same period.
In addition, it was nearly eight times more than the five Koreans killed in homicides in China over the past decade, and twice as many as the 13 people killed in Japan and Koreans killed in China combined.
The number of robbery victims was 102 in the Philippines, overwhelmingly higher than 19 in China and 3 in Japan.
Among Asia-Pacific countries, China has suffered the most damage from violent crimes by Koreans, including murder, robbery, rape, and kidnapping, with 1,119 Korean victims over the past decade.
The Philippines followed with 451 and Japan with 148.
