With the state visit, South Korea and the Philippines will establish a strategic partnership and economic cooperation between the two countries is expected to begin in earnest.
After a summit meeting with Philippine President Marcos, President Yoon Suk Yeol expected domestic companies to advance into infrastructure as well as nuclear power plants in the Philippines.
Let's hear President Yoon's remarks firsthand.
[Yoon Suk Yeol / President]
Recently, the Philippines is also starting preparations to reintroduce nuclear power plants. It is expected that the 'Batan Nuclear Power Plant Validation MOU' signed this time will be implemented and cooperation between the two countries will begin in earnest. I am confident that Team Korea will be the best nuclear power plant partner in the Philippines as well.
In order to cooperate with the Philippines' key infrastructure projects, Korea has decided to support the Foreign Cooperation Fund, EDCF. I hope that excellent Korean companies can contribute more to the expansion of infrastructure such as roads and bridges in the Philippines.
