At a time when Israel has vowed to retaliate against Iran's missile strikes, the leaders of the two countries are on the phone, raising speculation that Israel's decision may be imminent.
An aide to Mr. Netanyahu said he would want Mr. Biden to be informed if a decision was made on retaliation against Iran.
Israeli Defense Secretary Yoav Galant's visit to the U.S., which was previously expected to discuss how to retaliate against Iran and the situation of the conflict with U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, was postponed at the last minute.
Israeli media reported that Netanyahu had informed General Galant that he would not approve his visit until he spoke to President Biden.
Netanyahu also reportedly insisted that Iran's retaliation against missile attacks should be approved in his cabinet prior to Gallant's visit to the U.S.
