Officials from the president's office and professors from Seoul Medical University sat in one place to open the door to the parliamentary conflict, but it only reaffirmed the difference in perception of the 2,000-strong increase in medical school.

The Seoul Medical University and Hospital Professors' Emergency Response Committee held a discussion yesterday (10th) with the President's Office and the Ministry of Health and Welfare on the theme of "Medical Reform, Where Are We Going?"

At the meeting, Jang Sang-yoon, senior presidential secretary for social affairs, stressed that the supply and demand of doctors can be predicted based on basic data such as future population estimates, and that there is a shortage of about 10,000 doctors in 2035.

He then argued that supplementing unrealistic assumptions led to the conclusion that the insufficient number of doctors should more than double, not 10,000, and in fact, increase the number of doctors.

In response, Kang Hee-kyung, chairman of the emergency committee of Seoul National University Medical School, said that the number of doctors in the field of pediatrics and background care in Korea is higher than in other countries, and that the problem is that they do not provide major medical treatment, and when they return, emergency room plippang and open pediatrics will not be a problem.

In 2020, the medical community and the government signed an agreement not to unilaterally enforce the policy, and since the government broke the agreement without consultation, young doctors rushed out saying they could no longer believe it, expressing concern that they wondered if our reform was for the people or applicable to clinical trials.
