Kim Ho-il, president of the Korean Senior Citizens' Association, who is accused of asking members of the Korean Senior Citizens' Association to select a specific political party in which his younger brother was running during the April 10 general election, has been put on trial.

The Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office indicted Chairman Kim without detention on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act on the 8th.

Chairman Kim is accused of asking members of the Korean Senior Citizens' Association in March to select the Elderly Welfare Party, where his brother was running as a candidate in the 22nd general election proportional representation election.

Article 87 of the Public Official Election Act prohibits campaigning in an organization using a position or in the name of a representative in an organization where a candidate's family is an executive.
