A car crash near Cheongju Rest Area...2 cardiac arrest and 14 minor injuries

Around 6:30 p.m. today (13th), 16 people were injured when several cars collided one after another near the Cheongju Rest Area on the Gyeongbu Expressway.

As a result of on-site confirmation, at least two people were taken to the hospital with their hearts stopped, and 14 people are being treated for minor injuries.

Also, in the aftermath of the accident, all four lanes in the direction of Seoul are controlled for about an hour.

A police official said that six to seven vehicles appear to have been hit, and explained that the exact extent of the damage and the cause of the accident will be determined as soon as the scene is completed.
