Six countries, including the United States and the Philippines, began joint exercises in Philippine waters adjacent to Taiwan shortly after China's "Taiwan siege drill."

According to AFP, the annual Kamandak Training, centered on the United States and the Philippines, began on the 10th on Luzon Island in the northern Philippines.

The Kamandak exercise is a multinational joint exercise conducted by the U.S. and Philippine Marines since 2017 to improve their ability to carry out joint operations between allies.

More than 1,000 people each from the United States and the Philippines will participate in this training, and Korean, Japanese, Australian, and British troops will also participate in the training.

The drills focus on the defense of Luzon Island, about 800 kilometers away from Taiwan, live-fire drills will be conducted along the northern coast of Luzon Island, and also around the small Philippine island between Luzon Island and Taiwan.

"This exercise is not related to what's going on in Taiwan," the Philippine military said. "It's not to participate in the battle, it's to defend our territory."

On the 14th, just before the training, the Chinese military conducted a large-scale military drill involving the army, navy, air force, and rocket forces in the form of encircling Taiwan, taking issue with the "two countries theory" from Taiwanese President Lai Ching-de's speech on the National Foundation Day.
