"The tension in the situation on the Korean Peninsula is not in the common interests of each party," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Maoning said at a regular briefing.
"As a neighbor of the Korean Peninsula, China is watching the trend of inter-Korean relations," he reaffirmed. "The position of driving peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and political resolution of the Korean Peninsula remains unchanged."
Earlier today, the South Korean military said that the North Korean military blew up some sections of the inter-Korean connection between the Gyeongui and East Sea lines around noon and fired warning shots in response.
