These days, Internet advertisements that say you can earn income by working part-time at home, as you can see here and there,
New types of scams aimed at working from home are rampant, such as stealing money and disappearing, saying they can do
voice acting.

Reporter Yoon Woong-sung reports.

[Reporter]
Mr. A, a man in his 30s, recently saw an advertisement on the Internet that he was looking for a part-time voice actor job.

I was confident in my voice, so I applied, and the result was acceptance.

[Mr. A / Victim of fraud: He gave me a page at first, so I read it and sent him the recording file, so 10,000 won was deposited right away. That's how I built up my trust....]

Afterwards, the company said that they would return it when they paid for the microphone and other equipment, but the other party was completely out of contact for money.

[A / Victim of fraud: I deposited cheap equipment first, so I added 15% right away. I deposited 7.3 million won for high-end equipment, so I didn't return it right away....]

In fact, there are several posts on social media that say you can act as a voice actor.

The reporters visited one place in person.

It is a building where a company that recruits voice actors is located.

I'll find out if the reporters have an office in person.

I looked around the entire building, and there was no voice actor company.

[Yang Se-Neung / Eyeglasses owner: I've been here for about 40 years. There wasn't anything like that here.]

The number of suspected new frauds targeting part-time jobs from home is steadily increasing.

There are many articles that say you can make money by rating music or leaving product reviews, but most of them are false exaggerations.

Last year, the amount of online side fraud counseling received at the Seoul E-commerce Center surged more than 20 times from a year ago.

[Lee Seung-woo / Criminal lawyer: There is no such part-time job where you have to pay. I think it would be better not to proceed with this case. You need to get it through a proven platform or a trusted channel, and if possible, face-to-face at least once....]

Experts cautioned that fraudulent crimes targeting ordinary people who want to add even a penny to their households' livelihoods are increasing amid the prolonged economic recession.
