The Seoul High Prosecutor's Office plans to take over the records from the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office yesterday (17th) to see if the disposition against President Yoon Suk Yeol and First Lady Kim was appropriate.
It has been 10 days since Seoul's Sound, which accused President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife of violating the anti-graft law, filed an appeal against the prosecution's acquittal.
Earlier, the Internet media "Sound of Seoul" released a video of Kim receiving a luxury bag worth 3 million won from Pastor Choi Jae-young, raising suspicions that she received money and valuables in exchange for favors regarding her job.
An appeal is a procedure in which the complainant or accuser defies the prosecutor's non-prosecution disposition of the district attorney's office and seeks the judgment of the higher-level agency, the High Prosecutor's Office.
However, the prevailing view is that the prosecution is unlikely to overturn the conclusion as the prosecution pushed ahead with the decision not to indict Pastor Choi, although the prosecution recommended the indictment at the previous investigation review committee.
