Operating profit in the third quarter of this year turned into a surplus of 7.3 trillion won.

Sales were 17.6 trillion won and net profit was 5.8 trillion won, which was also in the black.

In particular, sales were the highest ever, and we rewrote the record in the first quarter.

Operating profit and net profit broke the record for the third quarter of 2018, which was called the semiconductor super boom, for the first time in six years.

Some predict that SK Hynix's all-time performance greatly exceeded Samsung Electronics' semiconductor division's operating profit.

Samsung Electronics' performance by division is before disclosure, but based on Samsung Electronics' operating profit in the third quarter of this year, it is expected to be around 4 trillion won.

According to the analysis, SK Hynix is expected to beat Samsung Electronics for the first time in the semiconductor business performance competition.

HBM is an essential part of making artificial intelligence semiconductors.

SK Hynix is virtually exclusively supplying HBM to Nvidia, the 'big hand' of the artificial intelligence semiconductor market.

SK Hynix said it achieved its largest sales since its foundation by expanding sales of high value-added products such as HBM and strong demand for artificial intelligence memories.

In particular, HBM sales grew more than 70% from the previous quarter and more than 330% from the third quarter of last year.

Starting in the fourth quarter, SK Hynix plans to continue its leading position in the market by supplying 12-tier DRAMs that are more stacked than current products.
