Oh Jae-won, a former professional baseball player who was sentenced to prison in the first trial on charges of habitual drug administration, has been sentenced to an additional suspended prison sentence on charges of taking methamphetamine.

The Seoul Central District Court sentenced Oh, who was handed over to trial on charges of entertainment, to four months in prison and two years of probation.

The court explained that strict measures are needed for drug crimes, but that Oh cooperated with the investigation and admitted the crime.

Oh was put on trial late last year on charges of accepting about 0.2 grams of methamphetamine from an acquaintance.

Earlier, Oh was sentenced to two and a half years in prison in the first trial after being arrested and charged with taking methamphetamine 11 times and receiving sleep-inducing drugs from acquaintances since 2022.

Oh was also additionally indicted on the 15th on charges of prescribing medical drugs to 14 former and current baseball players on behalf of them.
