Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who has had a strained relationship with former U.S. President Donald Trump, called Trump's campaign slogan, the MAGA movement, completely wrong.

CNN and others said in an autobiography ahead of its publication that Trump has greatly damaged the image and competitiveness of the Republican Party.

McConnell said in his autobiography that Trump is appealing to those who are less successful than others, and unfortunately, half of Republicans have criticized him for believing whatever Trump says.

In particular, he said inciting the attack on the Capitol was more of an impeachable offense and that there was no conflict at all over whether what Trump did in the Capitol riot was an impeachable offense.

Majority Leader McConnell also described Trump as a shallow narcissist, saying he was not very smart, violent, and unpleasant.

He also said that whenever Trump attacked him, he thought it was good for his reputation.
