Speaking at a press conference at the headquarters early this morning, Noda said, "I want to start sincere dialogue from tomorrow with a political party that does not want the current administration to survive."
He added that a meeting will be held sometime today to discuss future countermeasures.
In an interview with the broadcaster earlier, Noda said, "It is natural to seek the nomination of prime minister," adding, "I want to pursue it as I have said that regime change is the biggest political reform."
According to the results of the election, the Japanese House of Representatives will convene a special session of the National Assembly next month to discuss the selection of prime minister and the formation of a standing committee.
If a majority of votes can be gathered in the special parliament, they will be elected prime minister and be able to form a cabinet.
