The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced that it would announce legislative amendments to some of the rules on the installation and operation of special medical equipment.
In order to prevent excessive medical care and rising medical costs due to indiscriminate installation of expensive medical equipment, the government has defined and managed the number of medical personnel, types, and beds in medical institutions as standards for installation and recognition.
However, it was pointed out that the regulation is an excessive restriction on medical institutions that want to install special medical equipment in areas with low medical resources such as military areas.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Health and Welfare explained that it has revised the enforcement regulations to provide a basis for installing CT or MRI even if medical institutions in vulnerable areas do not meet the standards.
