In a statement, Guterres said North Korea's continued ballistic missile launches were a violation of relevant U.N. Security Council resolutions.
He also stressed that only diplomatic solutions can achieve complete denuclearization and sustainable peace on the Korean Peninsula, saying he is concerned about the situation on the Korean Peninsula and calls for easing tensions.
In connection with North Korea's missile launch, the United States and South Korea called for a meeting of the Security Council on the 4th.
