This year's average congratulatory money was 90,000 won, up more than 20 percent in three years, the report showed.

According to Kakao Pay's analysis of data on remittance of congratulatory money today (4th), the average cost of congratulatory money as of September this year was 90,000 won, up about 23% from 73,000 won in 2021.

The average congratulatory money by age group was about 60,000 won for those in their 20s, 100,000 won for those in their 30s and 40s, and 120,000 won for those in their 50s and 60s.

In a vote conducted by Kakao Pay under the theme of "How much would be appropriate for a wedding congratulatory money?" 58% of the respondents chose 100,000 won as the appropriate congratulatory money.

Meanwhile, the vote was held for three days from the 1st, and a total of 746,652 users participated.
