"I'm very confident," former President Trump told reporters after voting at a polling station in West Palm Beach, Florida, with his wife Melania. "I think we're going to win big today."
Asked if he would accept it if he lost, Trump reaffirmed his previous position that he would accept it "if it was a fair election."
It is interpreted as a statement that still leaves open the possibility of disobeying the election.
On whether he and Vice President Kamala Harris would fail to secure a majority of the electorate side by side, Trump insisted that "it would never happen."
At the same time, he said that if you let them vote only on paper ballots after checking their ID, the results will come out at 10 p.m. local time on the 5th.
"A lot of people say inflation is a disaster, but I think the top issue is the border issue," Trump said of the key issues in the presidential election. "We can't get criminals into the United States."
Trump is expected to watch the vote count with acquaintances at his private resort, Mar-a-Lago in Florida, before appearing at the nearby West Palm Beach Convention Center, where thousands of supporters wait.
