The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said it will detect three companies that made seaweed powder using Chinese sweet seaweed, which cannot be used in Korea, and retrieve all products produced.

Two types of seaweed powder made by Geumdong Co., Ltd. have a consumption period of 52,200 kilograms from January to April next year.

In addition, 16,200 kilograms of Gwangcheon Dasolgim products and 1,100 kilograms of Dongi Food seaweed powder were manufactured.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said that Chinese sweet seaweed is eaten locally, but it cannot be used as a food raw material in Korea because the evidence for eating has not been verified, and asked the place of purchase to return it.

According to the Food Sanitation Act, there are five types of raw materials that can make seaweed processed products, such as sesame, radiant laver, itbody stone, fur-patterned stone, and round stone.
