President Yoon greatly reduced public statements at this conference and devoted more than two hours to reporters and Q&A.

In a long conference, President Yoon showed an unadorned appearance by saying that he had a sore throat or introducing an anecdote with First Lady Kim Gun-hee, but the internal and external evaluations of the President's Office are mixed.

Reporter Kang Min-kyung reports.

After about 15 minutes of conversation, President Yoon Suk Yeol was asked questions by 26 reporters. The press conference, which is the fourth since taking office, lasted more than two hours, as it heralded the

's 'last-minute conference'.

[Yoon Suk Yeol / President: Let's ask one question. Just do one. My throat hurts now.]

It is a press conference that reflects the crisis of the ruling camp amid low approval ratings, but the questions and answers were made in a relatively free atmosphere.

As the presidential office had previously announced, additional questions followed.

[Presidential Correspondent] I think I'm confused about what the president apologized to us for. Can you give me a supplementary explanation about this?]

Presidential Correspondent: I'd like to connect you to a question just now.]

{President Yoon also showed his honest appearance without filtering, such as delivering his anecdote with First Lady Kim as it is.

[Yoon Suk Yeol / President: (Ms. Kim) left my cell phone and kept answering. So I said, "Are you crazy? What are you doing without sleeping?". When I went home at night, I thought (Ms. Kim) had seen the article and said, "Go and apologize properly anyway."]

The president's office explained that it also revealed questions about sensitive issues such as personnel reform as much as possible.

[Yoon Suk Yeol / President: To show you the aspect of innovation, I will tell you that we are already looking for and verifying the talent pool.]

An official from the presidential office evaluated that President Yoon was originally an honest and straightforward character, and that he seemed to have held a press conference honestly.

However, even within the ruling party, it was pointed out that it was not refined to be called the president's remarks.

In an NBS poll released around the time of the conference, President Yoon's positive assessment of state affairs was 19%, the lowest since he took office four times in a row.

[Yoon Suk Yeol / President: What kind of plan do you have to raise your approval rating? How do you make public opinion? I don't know how to use such tricks and it doesn't fit my constitution. Let's minimize the inconvenience and take a closer look at the hearts of the people....]

{President Yoon will enter the second half of his administration next week.

The Presidential Office of Yongsan is paying attention to the trend of public opinion on how different and formal press conferences can help restore the power of state affairs.
