The council held an extraordinary general meeting of representatives at the council center in Yongsan-gu, Seoul this afternoon and voted on a bill of no confidence in Chairman Lim.
Of the 224 delegates in attendance, 170 voted in favor of the impeachment bill, and the no-confidence bill of Chairman Lim was passed with 50 votes against it and four abstentions.
As a result, Chairman Lim, who took office in May, resigned in about six months.
Chairman Lim left the general meeting with his mouth firmly when asked by reporters about his feelings.
As a result, Chairman Lim remains the second disgraced case to be impeached by a delegate after former Chairman Roh Hwan-kyu in April 2014.
Earlier, 103 delegates of the medical association proposed impeachment, saying that Chairman Lim defamed the doctor and the medical association by pouring out rude comments and errors several times, and violated the rights and interests of members by failing to prevent the enactment of nursing laws.
