The Seoul Central District Court today (13th) accepted a bail request from former Vice President Ahn, who is accused of violating the Unfair Competition Prevention Act.
The court ordered 30 million won in bail deposits, residential restrictions, and attachment of electronic devices that can track the location in real time.Former Vice President Ahn
has been in charge of patent strategies at Samsung Electronics for nearly 10 years,
After leaving the company in 2019, he is accused of establishing a patent management company and conspiring with an internal Samsung Electronics employee to steal important confidential data.
He was also arrested and indicted in June on charges of using this to file a patent infringement lawsuit against Samsung Electronics in the United States.
