The two mock evaluations conducted this year to control the difficulty of the CSAT were polarizing.

From the standpoint of the examinee, it may be confusing which side to focus on and prepare for, but how do experts predict the actual difficulty of the CSAT?

I'm reporter Yeom Hye-won.

The mock evaluation in June and September was simply between water and fire.

If the difficulty level is high, the highest standard score rises, and the opposite case is low, but it is usually evaluated as an easy test if it is in the 120s, and a difficult test if it is in the mid to late 140s.

The results of the June and September tests differed considerably.

In September, it became so easy that the standard score for Korean language and mathematics was higher than the total number of medical school students.

English sees an appropriate first-class ratio of around 6%,

In June, only one out of every 100 applicants was difficult enough to be Grade 1, but it increased significantly to 10 in September.

How will this result, both extremes, affect the difficulty of the CSAT?

Experts say you shouldn't simply expect the middle of two easy and difficult tests.

This is because the composition of the examinee is also a factor that affects the control of the difficulty.

As the number of N students has increased this year in the aftermath of the increase in medical schools, experts' prospects are more inclined toward the "insertial exams."

[Im Seong-ho / CEO of Jongno Academy: Korean language and mathematics are expected to maintain the pattern that was highly discriminating during last year's main exam, while English subjects will be somewhat easier than June or last year's main exam, and will be somewhat more difficult than the Korea Institute of Evaluation in September.]

In particular, this time, there is a possibility that the upper-middle-class questions will be more difficult to solve.

As it excludes killer questions, it is expected that many "attractive incorrect answers" will be inserted to secure discrimination.

[Kim Byung-jin / Director of E2US Educational Evaluation Institute: It's not a very difficult question, but it's very likely that the middle or upper middle will try to secure discrimination by adjusting the difficulty of the questions that can be solved]

In this case, it takes time to solve the front problem, so even if a question with a large back score is easily asked, it may not be solved at all.

Therefore, entrance examination experts advise that it is important to check the problems that you usually solve well more thoroughly.
