Fire authorities received reports of elevator entrapment due to power outages in apartments and shopping malls in Yulnyang-dong, and rescued a total of five people.
The Chungbuk headquarters of KEPCO explained that there was a temporary power outage due to a problem with the ground switch, and the power transmission circuit was turned elsewhere to resume electricity supply in four minutes.
However, it added that some areas were delayed in full restoration and that power supply only resumed at 10 p.m.
