Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party, who was deprived of his right to vote in the first trial for violating the Public Official Election Act, will attend a rally to denounce the regime in downtown Seoul shortly.

The Democratic Party of Korea is struggling to maintain a single party, saying it cannot go against the public sentiment with political rulings, and it has accused the people of being the worst reason for the aggravation of sentencing.

I'm connecting with the reporter. Reporter Na Hye-in, what time does the Democratic Party's rally start?

[Reporter]
It will be held in front of Gwanghwamun in Seoul from 4:30 p.m.

It is the third outdoor rally to condemn the alleged manipulation of state affairs by President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife and call for an independent counsel, and representative Lee Jae-myung will also attend and speak.

It seems that it will send a message to party members and supporters that it will go unshakable, but after it is over, it plans to march the city with minor opposition parties, including the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, and civic groups.

Prior to the rally, the Democratic Party held an emergency joint meeting at the National Assembly with its lawmakers and regional chairmen from across the country, and yesterday defined the first trial's ruling as a "black history of justice" and decided to fight with Lee until the end.

Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the first trial, said the court ruled that Lee was innocent in the courts of public sentiment and history, saying that the court ruled against the removal and oppression of the brutal prosecution dictatorship.

Supreme Council member Kim Min-seok emphasized the historical significance of the fight against political prosecutors that followed the death of the late former President Roh Moo Hyun, and that the change of government, whether it is impeachment or constitutional amendment, should not be missed and take a restrained response.

Inside the Democratic Party, the atmosphere of confusion is clearly read.

There are many reactions that even if they were convicted, they expected a fine, and did not expect a suspended prison sentence.

If it is confirmed as it is, not only will Lee Jae-myung's individual election candidacy be restricted for 10 years, but the Democratic Party will also have to return 43.4 billion won in the last presidential election, which could shake the party's finances.

CEO Lee must also be sentenced to the first trial on charges of perjury on the 25th.

In the future, the offensive targeting the suspicions of President Yoon and his wife and Myung Tae-kyun is likely to strengthen, and some are expected to spread their voices to push for impeachment of the president or constitutional amendment to shorten his term.

What is the reaction of the people's power?

The power of the people, who have been in a tight spot due to the opposition's special prosecution offensive, has launched a massive counterattack.

Representative Han Dong-hoon criticized on social media that Lee Jae-myung and the Democratic Party of Korea's push for an outdoor rally is the worst reason for intimidating judges beyond self-reflection.

At the same time, he claimed that CEO Lee would face a heavier sentence in the first trial of perjury teacher charges on the 25th.

Last year, when the representative Lee's arrest agreement was passed by the National Assembly, it was already included, so even if the judiciary decides to arrest him in court, it is not necessary to obtain separate legislative consent.

Some in the ruling party called for Lee's resignation as the leader of the party.

Rep. Kim Ki-hyun wrote on social media that the party's shrineization for bulletproofness and threatening the judiciary would have been the reason for the aggravation of the sentencing, adding that Lee will have to resign and reflect on himself in the future.

Within the party, the so-called "anti-eat and run law" is also being pursued, which punishes judges if they are intimidated and allows them to seize campaign funds in advance before they are convicted of violating election laws.

The ruling party believes that Lee's ruling in the first trial also gave President Yoon the momentum to maintain a single confrontation in the third re-vote of the Kim Gun-hee Special Counsel Act, which is expected to exercise his right to demand reconsideration, or veto.

However, it is a burden that President Yoon and his wife are suspected of intervening in the nomination due to the revelations of Myung Tae-kyun and Rep. Lee Joon-seok of the New Reform Party.

CEO Han Dong-hoon said, "I am well aware that the reflection of CEO Lee's conviction alone cannot win public sentiment," and stressed that it is on the way to change and reform, although it is insufficient.
