While Rep. Lee Joon-seok of the New Reform Party claimed that President Yoon Suk Yeol was involved in the nomination of the 2022 local elections, Kim Tae-woo, the former head of Gangseo-gu District Office in Seoul, who was nominated at the time, said Lee was elected because of the nomination.

Kim, the former head of the district office, called lawmaker Lee by his name on SNS and wrote, "You, who was the party leader, won the election because you were nominated," "Thank you," and "I received a flowerpot to celebrate the election of the party leader."

After the election, he self-evaluated that it was a fair and good nomination, and he said that he was right, adding that he hopes to go to the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office and receive a good investigation.

Earlier, Rep. Lee claimed that President Yoon was involved in the nomination of mayor or district chief in the local election two years ago when he was the representative of the People's Power, and Kim's article is interpreted as a rebuttal.
