Former coach Huh Jung-moo said in a phone call with YTN that he has decided to run for president of the Korea Football Association, adding that he will announce the details through a press conference within this week.
Former coach Huh has led the professional team since 1990 and participated in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, becoming the first away tournament to advance to the round of 16.
In 2013, he also served as an administrator, serving as vice president of the soccer association.
While former coach Huh has officially announced his candidacy, Chairman Chung Mong-kyu, who is likely to seek a fourth term, has not even applied to the Sports Fair Commission for a second term.
