The prosecution is strongly opposed to the Democratic Party's push to impeach the prosecutor.

Deputy prosecutors at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, whose chief prosecutor and others were subject to impeachment, issued a joint statement, and senior prosecutors held a response meeting.

Three prosecutors, Lee Chang-soo, head of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, Cho Sang-won, the 4th chief prosecutor, and Choi Jae-hoon, the second head of the anti-corruption investigation, are expected to be impeached by the Democratic Party.

The reason is that they abandoned their duties last month by not indicting Kim Gun-hee in connection with the alleged manipulation of Deutsche Motors' stock price.

Prosecutors at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office protested as the National Assembly even agreed on the agenda for voting on the impeachment bill.

First Chief Prosecutor Park Seung-hwan, Second Chief Prosecutor Gong Bong-sook, and Third Chief Prosecutor Lee Sung-sik, the command of the Central District Prosecutors' Office, issued a joint statement to the prosecution's internal network.

Impeaching prosecutors on the grounds of the investigation results violates the essential content of the administrative power and is unconstitutional.

He also pointed out that using impeachment as a means of suspension of duty even though the Constitutional Court is expected to dismiss it should be stopped, saying it is an abuse of power.

About 30 senior prosecutors also held a meeting to discuss countermeasures, saying they could not overlook the situation.
Following the
deputy chief, we are considering announcing a statement under the name of the department head.

If the impeachment bill is passed, the duties of Lee Chang-soo, the chief prosecutor, will be suspended immediately until the results of the Constitutional Court's hearing are released.
