We are in Angil, a rural village in Seomyeon, Hongcheon, Gangwon-do.

A few pine trees fell toward the road.

Emergency recovery by cutting off branches and drilling through blocked roads is over.

Some of the wooden trunks are still hanging precariously over the wires.

There are many places like this.

Until this morning, more than 30 reports of damage were reported that trees fell or roads were blocked in Gangwon Province alone.

There were also casualties.

We went to the scene in the morning, and it was a highway car crash.

Broken car fragments filled the side of the road, indicating the situation at the time of the devastating accident.

The accident occurred at 6:40 a.m., when it snowed for a long time.

The vehicle slipped on the snow, and a 25-ton truck and a passenger car that followed crashed one after another.

A person in his 80s was taken to cardiac arrest but died, and six people in each vehicle were taken to a hospital.

Earlier this morning, a six-car crash occurred on the Guri Pocheon Expressway leading to the third round.

In addition, 67 national park trails in Gangwon-do, including Seoraksan, Chiaksan, and Odaesan, were also completely restricted.

Snow is currently full anywhere in the mountains of Gangwon-do.

Many places, including Daehwa-myeon, Pyeongchang, recorded more than 20cm of snow.

Although the snow has calmed down a bit now, heavy snow warnings are still in place in the southern part of Gangwon Province and in the mountains.

More than 20cm of snow is expected to fall by tomorrow, mainly in the mountains of Gangwon-do.

We went around rural areas in the morning, and we are also concerned about additional damage such as greenhouses and ginseng fields.

The road authorities and each local government in charge of snow removal are also on alert all day.

In the case of Gangwon Province, more than 600 snow removal vehicles will be deployed to spray more than 2,400 tons of snow removal agent.
