In an explanatory release, the Sejong Fire Department said it would like to apologize to Sejong citizens for causing controversy through media reports, and to make short-term overseas training more transparent and fair.

He then explained that the increase in the training budget by 12.8 million won was not due to the decision of the head of the fire department to accompany him, but that there was an administrative error in calculating education expenses based on last year's plan, and that the education expenses that were incorrectly reflected were corrected while revising the number of participants.
