A man in his 40s who held a hostage at Gangnam Station in Seoul on the first day of the Children's Day holiday received three years in prison in the first trial.

The Seoul Central District Court sentenced a man in his 40s, identified only by his surname Jang, to three years in prison today (3rd) on charges of attempted hostage coercion.On May 4,

Jang was arrested and charged with hostage taking, threatening an unknown woman with a weapon at a household goods store near Gangnam Station in Seoul.

At that time, Jang was arrested after confronting the police for nearly 30 minutes, and the victim was rescued with light bruises.It was investigated that Jang

had been delusional for a few years that he had a machine in his stomach that could stop his heart, and he thought he should let him know, so he committed the crime on a planned basis.
