Army Chief of Staff Park An-soo, who served as martial law commander during the emergency martial law crisis, was suspended as of today (12th).

The Ministry of National Defense said today that it has separated former martial law commander Park An-soo into a unit located in the Seoul metropolitan area to suspend his duties.

The personnel action was taken by the military authorities eight days after the emergency martial law that occurred on the 3rd was lifted.

The Ministry of National Defense then said it has designated Ko Chang-jun, the second commander of the operation, as the acting chief of the Army Staff.

Earlier, on the 4th, when martial law was lifted, President Park An-soo offered to resign to former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun, but then President Yoon Suk Yeol rejected it.
